Add OIL TANKER MORATORIUM/ VOLUNTARY TANKER EXCLUSION ZONE

The Oil Tanker Moratorium Act contains restrictions for certain commercial vessels transiting along the BC coast from the northern tip of Vancouver Island to the Canada/United States border in the north. The Pacific States/British Columbia Oil Spill Task Force endorses voluntary measures and minimum distances from shore for certain commercial vessels transiting the West Coast. MORATOIRE SUR LES PÉTROLIERS / ZONE D’EXCLUSION VOLONTAIRE DES PÉTROLIERS

La Loi sur le moratoire relatif aux pétroliers précise des restrictions pour certains navires commerciaux le long de la côte de la Colombie-Britannique entre la pointe nord de l’île de Vancouver jusqu’à la frontière entre le Canada et les États-Unis au nord. However, the majority of firings are carried out in two areas designated West Coast Firing Area North (WCFA North), and West Coast Firing Area South (WCFA South). Pecked lines enclose these areas. For information concerning firing operations call Tofino Traffic on VHF Channel 74.
